We are excited that this Sunday Pastor Jonathan Beckford will be ministering for us in our 10.30am service. Pastor Jonathan is a good friend and has served faithfully in the Walthamstow church as a Bible study leader for many years, before being launched into the city of Oxford from our November UK conference.
It is exciting that there will soon be a church in Oxford, a city famed for its learning, but like all places, that needs the wisdom that is from above. We were there for a marriage seminar last year and no doubt seeds were being planted in our brother’s heart! It is interesting because I first came to Milton Keynes for a leader’s retreat some years back and that is when I began to wonder at the possibilities; God probably did for Jonathan what he did for me, and kept bringing the city up in conversations, with people he met and with that distinct feeling of calling.
As young disciples back in the day, and even when we began to organize our own little preaching arenas, ‘Serious Preachers’ and ‘The School of The Prophets’, we always dreamed of preaching for each other one day. What a joy to see those days arrive, and we are looking forward to his ministry on Sunday.
