Ernie Toppin made his break onto the early 90’s music scene with the group Jamestown. His hit ‘She’s Got Soul’, featuring Jocelyn Brown, was a mainstay on MTV and climbed the charts in the UK and on the continent.
He was picked up by Virgin Atlantic’s in-flight music program and A&M Records were seeking a follow up to his first hit. At this point in his life, things had taken a dramatic turn from a lifestyle of music, drugs, clubs and gang violence.
